Waylee ("we", "our", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Waylee mobile application and website.

By using Waylee, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

We only collect what is necessary to provide and improve Waylee.

Information you provide:

  • Email address and name (when you sign up via Google or Apple Sign-In)

  • Trips, activities, and itineraries you create

  • Links you share with Waylee for content extraction (Instagram, TikTok)

  • Votes and preferences within group trips

  • Any information you submit through forms or feedback

Information collected automatically:

  • Device type, browser type, and operating system

  • Usage analytics (features used, screens visited) via PostHog — no screen recordings or screenshots

  • Device identifier for push notifications (to deliver trip updates and activity alerts)

  • Subscription status (managed securely through Apple's in-app purchase system via RevenueCat)

We do not collect precise location data. Location permission is used solely to display your position on the map within the app — this data never leaves your device.

We do not collect sensitive personal data.

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate Waylee's features

  • Create and manage trips and itineraries

  • Enable collaboration and voting with friends

  • Send push notifications about trip updates, votes, and content extraction results

  • Process subscription purchases

  • Improve performance, usability, and design through anonymous analytics

  • Communicate with you about updates or support requests

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising.

Your data is only shared when necessary:

  • With trusted service providers: PostHog (analytics), RevenueCat (subscriptions), Google (authentication), Apple (authentication and payments)

  • To comply with legal obligations

  • To protect the rights, safety, and security of Waylee and its users

All partners are required to keep your data secure and use it only for the stated purposes.

  1. Social Media Content

When you send a Reel or link from platforms like Instagram or TikTok:

  • We only process the content needed to create your itinerary

  • We do not claim ownership of that content

  • Extracted content is stored on our servers to display in your trips and library

  • The original content remains subject to the platform's terms

  1. Cookies & Analytics

Waylee may use cookies or similar technologies to:

  • Keep the website running smoothly

  • Measure performance and usage

  • Improve user experience

The Waylee app uses PostHog for anonymous event analytics (e.g., feature usage, screen views). No screen recordings or screenshots are captured. You can control cookies through your browser settings.

  1. Push Notifications

Waylee sends push notifications for trip updates, voting reminders, and content extraction results. You can enable or disable notifications at any time in the app settings or iOS Settings. We store your device token securely to deliver these notifications.

  1. Data Security

We take reasonable measures to protect your data:

  • Authentication tokens stored in iOS Keychain (hardware-encrypted)

  • All network communication over HTTPS

  • Secure servers with limited access to personal information

  • Regular updates and monitoring

However, no system is 100% secure. Use Waylee at your own discretion.

  1. Data Retention & Deletion

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from the app (Profile > Settings > Delete Account). Upon deletion:

  • All personal data, trips, activities, votes, and saved content are permanently removed from our servers

  • Local data is wiped from your device

  • Analytics data is anonymized

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

  • Access your personal data

  • Request correction or deletion

  • Withdraw consent at any time

  • Request a copy of your data
